resource gathering but with etho’s chest program method, doesn’t sound as good tho and one of the branches got its time a teeny bit of i have no idea why
I don't want to do ALL of this in H’s mentions, so moving Decked Out discussion here— yeah during the build was when I realized that Tango’s day job before Hermitcraft was game design! He just showed us a bit of the redstone, and it’s just— yeah it’s so complicated, but also it’s so simple? You have to have SUCH a knowledge of redstone to think like that, but then it gets elegant. I love to see Tango (and Iskall and Etho and Doc and Cub and--) talk redstone because it’s just so SMART. I go “oh, of COURSE” a lot while they explain how it works, and then I think about trying to implement any of that and my brain explodes. I have to build a cart unloader with an ilmango tutorial paused on my screen.
Also season 7 of hermitcraft was fantastic cause there was so much drama in the shopping center, right over Decked Out, and the tangible fear that they would break into it was constant and amazing. Cub had a bet to eat chorus for a while and he kept popping into the redstone accidentally.
But yeah like. These fantastic redstoners will explain basic (and intermediate) concepts like… and/or gates and shit, and I’ll be like “OH yeah that makes sense!”
And then the MOMENT I try to put any of that knowledge into practice, i’m like UUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH WTF DO I DO. Yeah I’m pretty rough on redstone, the simplest lil thing takes MULTIPLE attempts to put together correctly, usually, unless I’ve also got a tutorial paused in the background XD So stuff like all that redstone them boyos do is just…. /chef kiss/
But also like the absolute gremlin chaos redstone of stuff that Zedaph does, it’s not elegant or efficient in the same way but by god is it CREATIVE. I got in spectator in his s8 base and like, all those contraptions were bizarre and inefficient and often useless, but also COOL and INTERESTING.
But yeah Decked Out being under the shopping district while the rest of s7… happened? I cannot imagine how stressful for everyone XD
A) I try and understand what Zedaph does with redstone and my brain starts throwing error messages. His like, potion-brewing computer? WHAT? WHAT? SIR WHAT?
B) Scar ran a TUNNEL BORE through the shopping district looking for Grian. They had ‘killl immediately’ switch if they hit ANYTHING that looked like redstone.
i didn’t get into hermitcraft until the start of s8, so my only frame of reference for decked out is when grian duked ravagers during sands of time and praised his decked out practice for getting him through it haha.
i know tango is builidng a decked out 2 tho. with the warden? very excited to see that get played :]
I am SO Excited to see new hermitblr see Decked Out be played, version one was insane to watch in action. It’s like if sands of time was terrifying, except with even more mechanics where the dungeon is watching you and wants you dead. Etho basically card-counts his way through it.
my favorite thing is etho moving into bdubs basement and saying ādonāt tell bdubs!ā knowing full well bdubs pulls up every new etho video on his flat screen family tv and watches with a big bucket of popcorn in his lap like itās a feature film
there really is nothing funnier than the hermits being eachotherās biggest fans.
enjoying joking about the two weird guys living in bdubs’ house but to be fair at least ren was invited. imagine you move in with one of your friends and then go downstairs at 3am and someone you havent seen in half a year is just eating out of the fridge.
etho moving into the Tree of Whimsy Lore Basement after getting himself exiled (and un-exiled) by a bdubs-crowned king right after bdubs makes Ren king and gives him the top of the monolith. it’s like if you went into a skyrim dungeon and there’s LITERALLY just some guy squatting there. not fantasy some guy like a regular person with a couch and a mini fridge just chilling in an ancient temple. I love everything abt this set up
