Some day I want to see a Captain Kirk parody that leans hard into his original flavour “hapless romance novel protagonist who keeps ending up in sexually compromising situations with hot aliens more or less by accident” characterisation rather than the “grotesque womaniser” shtick of later interpretations and has him just constantly tormented by the fact that every single alien he meets wants to rail him.

You know, a harem anime spin on the Original Series would be kind of fascinating to watch, because the core cast of the Original Series arguably includes all three major harem anime protagonist archetypes if you squint just right: Scotty is the charmingly chaotic rascal with a woman in every port, Bones is the sleazy horndog who’d probably have a fascinating collection of extraterrestrial STDs were it not for 23rd Century medicine, and Kirk is the straight-laced Boy Scout who repeatedly captures the sexual interest of hot aliens through no fault of his own. There are even a couple of episodes where that interplay is relevant to the plot!
