Police murdered Walter Wallace on camera. His mother was trying to de-escalate his mental health crisis. Rioters over powered armed police last night. Solidarity protests have popped up nationally as a response.
Police had been to his house three times the day before as his family was trying to call for help with the mental health crisis. The third time they just stood there and laughed. And then they came back the next day and killed him. (source.)
That poor guy… has a snore like that AND was burned horribly by his friends???
I feel like a lot of people might not know that that dude’s snore sounds exactly like the seat slides in a crew shell, which is why his buddies are rowing, which is why this is fucking priceless
It’s like when making Hocus Pocus they told Bette Midler “this is camp just do whatever the fuck you want,” they told Sarah Jessica Parker that she could either drop acid or do a line of coke before every take but she had to do one, they told Kathy Najimy that her character is just an evil golden retriever, and then they told all the actors playing the kids that this was a very serious horror movie and if they didnt take all of this seriously they’d be in trouble
And they told Doug Jones “Perfect, everything you do is perfect, keep doing that, yes” and they were correct.
This person thinking a $200-300 bag means you’re the 1%
yeah
I’m sitting here boggling at the idea of spending more than $30 on a purse, when i could put that money towards so many other things.
$300 is pricey for a bag, but I’ve spent more than that on video games, so it’s hard for me to be judgey about it. They’re good sized bags, with a simple design that you could wear with a ton of stuff and won’t go out of style quickly. If they’re really good quality, they could outlast a number of my cheapo bags, since I go through a few of those a year (when I left the house). You would definitely have to have the money up front, though. (Hello, Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness.) The designer is Liberian-American, though, so you’d be supporting a Black-owned business.
But I haven’t seen any mention of this brand before, memes or no, so why has this suddenly shown up on Tumblr? Especially since it’s pretty low priced compared to a lot of designer names. Let me google!
Ah. AOC bought a somewhat pricey, but practical, designer name bag, supporting a Black immigrant both directly and by providing publicity for his business. Suddenly, a post appears on Tumblr encouraging socialist and communist-leaning people to hate people carrying this particular designer name bag.
She’s up for reelection in two months.
This is what propaganda looks like.

For a long time, I carried an $80 purse. It was FABULOUSLY expensive to me, and I loved it! It was orange leather, bought on clearance at the Franklin-Covey store, and it was my favorite wardrobe piece. But an $80 purse is frequently a $20 purse in a fancier store, and it got worn.
And then I didn’t get a job explicitly because I carried a beat-up purse when I showed up for the interview. And then my agent literally ordered me to buy a new purse.
Women are judged on not only our physical appearance, but the appearance of the things we carry with us. We don’t get to opt out, no matter how hard we try. If AOC carried a beat-to-shit $10 backpack, she’d get dragged just as hard, and even more cruelly. So why shouldn’t she buy a purse that’s good for all the reasons detailed above, that makes a good impression and helps her get what she needs out of her job?
God we built a no-win system and then threw rocks at the people trying not to lose.
