#better yet it’s not their actual date #Jack’s just taking his poor overworked friend Janet out #and he also needs Janet’s help with something (the very idea of him and Janet is laughable and everyone MUST see it right? right?)#there’s a cute waitress that he has an alarmingly huge crush on and who maybe likes him back but he’s not sure #poor Janet’s on the verge of snapping (it’s been a long week) when he finally spills the beans doing his best to defend the clumsy waitress #(though him looking at the waitress ~ Sam ~ like he’d like to order her if she was on the menu is kind of telling)#and she finally puts 2 and 2 together (she can’t exactly blame Sam for being jealous of her even if the idea of her and Jack is laughable)#so maybe she can salvage her evening and even have some fun too #the look on Sam’s face is worth it when she asks her out on a date on Jack’s behalf (the look of shock on Jack’s face is worth it too)#because they’re being obvious and kinda stupid (that with the spilling thing)#her free dinner is worth it too (she never expected that Sam would become her best friend after this either)#and Jack’s finally smiling again #so Janet figures that that weird evening was not a waste of time after all #(and what a story to tell their children when they have them!) #sam and jack #otp to end all otps #it’s all about Jam #stargate sg1 TAGS by @samcaarter
